File is a physical file
that can be stored in a physical place for example in a shelf, library or etc. This is not to be mistaken with the Site File which is a digital copy that is uploaded in the Document Library.
This function helps you to keep track of all the files you have, and also keep track of the request to borrow. You can imagine the File function as a librarian system.
Each Site has its own File function. What you can do in the File is depending on your site member roles. The following tutorial will be labeled with Admin
and Site Manager
) and Collaborator
, Contributor
, and Consumer
) to differentiate which function can be accessed by which roles.
To manage a file is simple. You can add, edit, search and delete the file. Only admin and site managers can add a file.
A file can be requested by any site members. The file request can be urgent
or not urgent
. You can make an urgent
request if the book is not available
at the moment. Depending on the urgency of the file request, the current borrower will receive a notification to return the file. The video below will walkthrough the steps to request a file.
{warning} Admin is unable to request for the file.
An admin
or site manager
can response to the file request by either accepting
or rejecting
it.
If the request is responded, the requester will receive an email regarding the response.

The file's status will be affected once the data list record is modified. Find out more in the video.
